Lamp World
A digital painting that depicts a dreamlike landscape where surreal buildings blend into the natural terrain, their forms carved into cliffs, caves, and hillsides, blurring the line between architecture and environment in a harmony both strange and serene.
My Process
For this project I was very interested in world bulding, specifically creating a fully detailed fantasy environment based off of everyday elements from my apartment. This painting is based off of a lamp I have, the reference image can be found below
Using this reference image, I based the geography and landscape of my painting off of the parts of the actual lamp. I replicated some of the skills I learned from my Rick and Morty Concept Art Copy (see other projects). This style of design made for a surreal environment and enabled me to add detail with layers of depth to compose a highly detailed scene.
This project turned out really cool and it's interesting to walk by this lamp every day and picture this surreal environment that I design for it based on a variation of the simple reference.
